Planning a site visit: access, location, and the separate call-out fee

Some projects need eyes on the floor before anything can be confirmed. This guide explains how site visits work and what to expect.

Many projects can be discussed over WhatsApp with photographs. Others genuinely need a site visit, because the condition of the floor, access or the space itself cannot be judged from a picture.

When a visit helps

A visit is most useful when the existing surface is unclear, when the area is large or awkward, or when the preparation needed will significantly affect the quotation. It lets us confirm what is actually there rather than working from assumptions.

The call-out fee

Call-out fees vary according to distance and are confirmed before a visit is arranged. The call-out fee is charged separately and is not deducted from the installation invoice. We explain the fee before anything is booked, so there are no surprises.

An enquiry is not a booking

Sending an enquiry does not book a visit, incur a charge, or authorise payment. It is simply the start of a conversation. We confirm the fee and the arrangements with you before a visit takes place.

Making the visit useful

If you can, have the following ready:

  • Access to the area, including any locked or restricted spaces.
  • Rough dimensions or an idea of the floor area.
  • A note of any known history, such as previous coatings or repairs.
  • Any timing constraints you are working towards.

Where we work

We are based in Cape Town and our primary coverage is Cape Town and the Western Cape. We consider other South African locations by arrangement, subject to the project.
