Two floors of the same size can need very different work. A quotation reflects the actual project, so it is useful to understand what changes the scope.
The size and shape of the area
The floor area in square metres is the starting point, but shape matters too. Many edges, columns and awkward corners take longer than one open space of the same area.
The condition of the existing surface
This is often the biggest factor. A sound, flat floor may need minimal preparation, while a damaged or previously coated surface may need grinding, repair or removal before anything new is applied.
The system selected
A thin roller coat, a thicker screed and a polished concrete finish do not involve the same work. The material and build-up are agreed around how the space is used.
Preparation
Preparation is usually quoted as part of the job rather than as an optional extra, because the finish depends on it. Skipping preparation is rarely a saving; it usually shows up later.
Access and working conditions
Whether the premises stay in use, how materials reach the area, and how much space is available all affect scheduling. If the space must remain operational, that is planned around and reflected in the programme.
Travel and call-out
We are based in Cape Town and work across the Western Cape. Call-out fees vary according to distance and are confirmed before a visit is arranged. The call-out fee is charged separately and is not deducted from the installation invoice.
What we will not do
We do not inflate a quotation with work that is not needed, and we do not quote a number we cannot stand behind. If something cannot be confirmed without seeing the floor, we say so and arrange the appropriate assessment.
